Thursday, December 10 — In at 9:05, slight overcast and almost warm. Began significantly improving the model building table area and space behind the display case. Posted pics from last night’s model club meeting. SIGNIFICANTLY more neatly arranged the modeling table behind the counter and the book shelf near it. Now, when seated at the modeling table, I can see and welcome visitors. BIG IMPROVEMENT! Separated old newspaper articles with white paper and placed them on the bottom shelf. They are getting old. MUST scan them before they fall apart in my hands! Worked a while with checks and receipts. More to do. Welcomed some Citation XL for long chat as they looked around. He used to fly for the Peoria Army National Guard and flew into Springfield Air Rendezvous one year. The crew loved the show. Worked on the YB-49, VA Global Flyer and Me-262. Worked upstairs in the process room until 9:20. Repaired and returned 1/72 Yak 1, F-51 of Hoover and AT-6 Blue Angel “Beetle Bomb” to office for display. Glued the B-36 fuselage halves together (MAJOR accomplishment) and made progress with the B-45. This is the most productive MODELING day I’ve had this year. Went home at 9:35. Day rating A-
Pictures of the visiting UH-72 were taken August 17 this year a few hundred feet from the AeroKnow Museum’s WELCOME Room door.
