February 20 – Beech King Air 300, 350i, Citation Excel

Saturday, February 20 — In at 7:30 and worked in Intake Rm until 8:35. Gathered some AKM “busy work” to take to employer and had a good day there. Nothing hostile. Returned to AKM after. Tripped on a box in the lobby while going to the conventional mail box room and fell pretty hard onto right hip. Also stood up pretty fast and continued. Worked from 2:50 to 8:25 in the Intake and Process Rms. Cleared space for more unsorted US aircraft clips, put a bunch of Miscellaneous, English and Chronology articles into boxes for long-term storage, meaning that if I can’t find volunteers for this enterprise, the executors of my estate will fast track them to the nearest dumpster. Late lunch was the last three cookies left over from Wednesday’s model club meet. Most time after 6 pm was spent scanning negatives and then a bunch of slides. Dealing with 35mm negs was an unexpectedly cumbersome task. I will wait until I can acquire a more modern 35mm negative scanner, but I’ll still use the current one for slides and older, larger negatives. It became obvious after spending a few hours on my feet in the Intake Rm, that my fall was more serious than I first thought. The discomfort in my  right hip was becoming a problem. Could not put a lot of weight on it when standing up and climbing steps. Descending steps holding the hand rail was easier. Must spend less time on my feet. Really got a workout with the scanner and worked on a few models a little bit as things scanned. Back to office about 8:30. Went home via grocer at 9:00. Day rating: B because I accomplished a lot, but there was less fun and Lady Destiny kicking my in the tail and whispering “Don’t you dare quit yet, Einstein. Not while you can still stand, you don’t QUIT.” Went back to the office for my camera after heading out and seeing the Citation Excel and King Air 300, both owned by Family Video, formerly head
quartered in Springfield, on the ramp. Nice consistency of color on both birds, both look like they just came out of the showroom.  Took a few pictures. Also pictured here is a King Air 350i which I phot’d a few days ago.
