March 22 -Nanchang CJ-6, Yakovlev Yak-52

Tuesday, March 22 — In at 6:50, clearing sky but very windy and chillier than it ought to be. Brought 1/48 Ju-87, 1/48 A-10 and 1/72 YF-12 models in progress to finish and display here and another desk lamp to help see the work in the Process Room. Phot’d a red Robinson against the early sunrise. Processed the pics. Worked to better arrange model projects in the Process Room all morning, also worked on a 1/72 Revell F4F-4 and the Ju-287 which I top coated with RLM 83. Brought the restored P2V-7 to Welcome Room for display. Had to get a hearing evaluation for hearing aids for both ears, was involved with that 12:30 to 3:00 when I returned. Proofread another article for the AAHS Journal. , but I was tired. Nodded off sitting upright at my desk with the door closed. Went home for the day at 6:00. Day rating C+

Pictures of the Nanchang CJ-6s of Team Red were taken April 29, 2005 during Media Day, the day before the 23rd Springfield Air Rendezvous Air Show. I was privileged to be aboard one for a local flyaround.  The event also featured that year were the Blue Angels, Skip Stewart and Bob Carlton. The 24th and final Air Rendezvous would take place in 2006.
