March 26

Saturday, March 26 –In at 7:15, overcast & calm, phot’d the Beech Baron & Hawker BeechJet on the ramp. Assembled a bunch of scraps & clips to take to employer. The day there was extremely depressing. We had no paying customers. I was very chilly every minute, hands like ICE. Owner made a big deal out of buying me what he INSISTS on calling a SANDWICH and is, in FACT, an Egg McMuffin that is spittin’ distance from NOTHING AT ALL. I thanked him for it as I always do. I don’t want to appear ungrateful. I have some granola snack food in a desk drawer there, but with the cold and the TEDIUM of sorting slips of aviation articles and filing them in a box of #10 letter envelopes with the tops cut off, I had no appetite at all and was so depressed I could barely stand it. Back at the airport it was no better. Started to update my checking account files but THAT was depressing too. Decided I needed a nap. Went home at 4:10, tried to nap and couldn’t. Read the  John Toland book in the recliner rocker I call Sominex because it’s such a good “sleep aid.” Drifted off to sleep in 45 minutes, awoke ab out 6:15 and read the Toland book, eating peanut butter from a table knife and drinking iced tea until almost 10. To internet and watched You Tube World War II aviation videos a few hours, then back to Toland book. I DO LIKE THE BOOK. After an hour and a half of that and a cup of Burgundy, returned to bed and slept well.. Day rating D-
