Wednesday, April 27 — In at 6:55, much cooler than recently, very overcast, threatening rain. Worked on magazine box labels. Took one picture of a Bombardier 100 and late in the day, a few of a WalMart Lear 45. Drove in light rain to Air Combat Museum to meet John B, an F4U fan, and Scott from Vermont, IL and Gene their friend visiting ACM first — especially the F4U-5 with wings folded — and then to AeroKnow. Terrific visit with Dennis L., the new A&P there. Lunch together, John B bought, and three hours touring AeroKnow Museum a TREMENDOUS visit. Departed about 5 and I processed pictures from their visit until the model club met at 6:30. A terrific day, every minute of it. Went home at 9:40. Day rating: A.
Pictured are the visitors who toured the museum Wednesday and visitors to our fair city who remained on the ramp.
John Bybee of Vermont, IL has been a friend since he discovered AKM and first visited here about five years ago. He’s a B-24 SPECIALIST and a terrific fellow!
John, center wtih fellow Vermont, Illinoisan, Scott and Springfield friend Gene in the AKM Research Room during our three hour tour. The four of us visited Mike George’s fabulous, nearby, Air Combat Museum in the morning and spent the afternoon, after a nice lunch at Dynasty in Springfield, visiting AeroKnow.
